Polymetals purchased the Nimbus Silver Project, located near Kalgoorlie, from Barrick Mines in 2003. Within five months the Company had designed, constructed and commissioned a new Merrill Crowe silver treatment plant in addition to opening two pits at the Discovery and Eastern ore zones.

Polymetals produced 3.2Moz of silver through to 2007 and subsequently sold the plant and infrastructure. Polymetals retains ownership of its 33km2 Boorara package of mining leases and exploration licences that surround the Nimbus mine tenements.
