Recent programs of reverse circulation and diamond
drilling by the WDJV were designed to:
provide grade control information in the
White Dam (Hannaford) pit
test the extent of sulphide mineralisation
below the pit floor
consolidate resources at the Vertigo prospect
establish potentially economic mineralisation
at the other peripheral prospect areas
collect core samples for metallurgical testing
at White Dam and Vertigo
collect geotechnical information at Vertigo
to facilitate open pit design
provide additional process water resources.
If economic, the WDJV would develop the Vertigo
resource following completion of mining at White
Dam. The WDJV also intends to progressively explore
other near-mine and regional prospects. The planned
WDJV exploration program for 2011 involves:
final infill drilling at Vertigo;
delineation and definition drilling at the
peripheral prospect areas
geochemical surveys and scout drilling at
the more remote prospect areas
preliminary investigation of the iron ore
potential of the Braemar Formation that passes
through the southern tenement area and which
has been the subject of considerable interest
by other companies in the general area.
Exploration of further near-mine prospects including
White Dam North will be completed during
2011.
