2011
Polymetals successfully listed on ASX in May. 
ASX: PLY

2009 - Current
White Dam Gold Project, South Australia

  • Total gold output to June 2011 was 100koz gold
  • Officially opened by the Honourable Paul Holloway MLC, Minister for Mineral Resources Development, South Australia on 10 June 2010.
  • First gold produced in April 2010.
  • Project finance with facility for the project was secured in September with Barclays. Polymetals fast tracked the development of the project.

Boorara Western Australia

  • Conducted drilling at Boorara. Sold Nimbus plant and Mining Lease to Reed Resources in 2009 and Boorara Tenements to MacPhersons Reward in 2011.

2006 - 2008
Hellyer Zinc JV, Hellyer Tasmania

  • Subsidiary Polymetals (Hellyer) Pty Ltd funded, developed and managed the Hellyer Mine tailings re-treatment project in a 50/50 JV with ASX listed Intec Ltd (ASX: INL). Polymetals share of production was 17kt zinc, 5kt lead and 297kt silver in concentrate.

Samford Corporate Centre, Samford QLD

  • Polymetals purchased the Samford Corporate Centre in January 2006 to consolidate its head office.

2004 - 2007
Nimbus Silver Mine, Kalgoorlie Western Australia

  • Two open pits were developed at Nimbus to mine 3.2 million ounces of silver.

2002 - 2005
Mt Boppy Gold Mine, Canbelego New South Wales

  • Ore-body reinterpretation provides basis to mine from 2 open pits above the original Mt Boppy which yielded 1Mt at 15 g/t.
  • The mining of the two pits yielded 67,855 oz gold from 503,000t ore.

2002
White Dam Gold Project, South Australia

  • Purchased the White Dam gold project from Mt Isa Mines in 2002.
  • Exco Resources were introduced as a JV partner to the project and purchased Polymetals interest in 2005.

2000 - 2005
Bernie Hannaford

  • Bernie Hannaford is remembered as a major contributor to the recent success of the Group. He worked as a manager and was instrumental in commencement of operations at Mt Boppy then Nimbus. Bernie passed away on 20th May 2005 and is remembered for his mateship, hard work and no nonsense attitude.

Magellan Lead Project, Western Australia

  • Polymetals acquired the project from Renison and completed a pre-feasibility study. Sold to Ivernia plc in August 2000, now Ivernia Inc, TSX: IVW.

1988– 2010
Lloyd Collar

  • Lloyd Collar joined Polymetals in 1988 and was a founding shareholder. He worked alongside David Sproule on various projects providing his "can do" logistical experience from a depth knowledge gained in the bush. Lloyd passed away on 24th September 2010 from mesothelioma, having been a miner in Wittenoom in his early 20s. Lloyd is remembered for his sense of humour and wide ranging innovative ability.

1993 – 2001
Various Production & Business Activities

Polymetals commences operations for various projects including:

  • Canbelego Silver Project, NSW (1993 – 1996) which produced approximately 30 tonne silver and 5,000oz gold
  • Polymetals purchased an industrial yard in Virginia, Brisbane and established its head office at the premises (1995)
  • May Day Gold Mine, Gilgunnia NSW (1996 – 1997). Polymetals provided equipment, development and management
  • Magellan Lead Project (1996 – 2000). Polymetals acquired the project from RGC and pre-feasibility completed. Sold to Ivernia plc in August 2000

1987 – 1993
Contract Services

Contract jobs including design, construction, supervision, and operation of various small projects including:

  • Burmill gold tailings re-treatment plant (1987 – 88)
  • Geomet Pty Ltd geochemical assay laboratory (1988)
  • Mikado Gold Project (1988)
  • Murrin Murrin Gold Mine (1989)
  • Double A Gold Project (1990 – 1992)
  • Goldsearch assay laboratory Tanzania, East Africa (1990 – 1993)

1986
Incorporation of company in Kalgoorlie, WA

  • Initially known as Meerschaum Gold, it was renamed Polymetals Australia Pty Ltd.
